Project Details
I received an offer for a solar panel system with an estimated amortization time of around 13 years, which I consider too long and a poor investment. I am not located in the US, and the tax credit has already been included in the calculated costs. My home is fully electric, relying on mainly nuclear and water sources for water and heating. A substantial portion of my current annual electricity spending of 2,500 goes towards heating, especially between November and March when solar production is low. The system is expected to reduce my annual spending to approximately half. I have never experienced a blackout and do not have generators. The total installation cost of 30,000 includes about 15,000 for installation complexities and scaffolding. This is a cash upfront investment, and I believe I could invest the money elsewhere and achieve better returns.
