Is $14,675 to install a 5.26kW solar system a fair price?
Project Details
I received a quote from a reputable local solar installer in NJ. I was able to negotiate the price down from $2.84 ppw to $2.79 with free critter guards (~$900 value). I would be paying cash for the system. I am trying to determine if this is a good price, or if I should wait until around end of Q1 to mid Q2 next year to see if the prices drop further. I have read arguments about 1:1 net metering potentially ending in NJ, which makes me consider purchasing now, but I can't find information on when this might happen. I am only considering purchasing the system outright. No installers can guarantee installation before the end of the year, as they are all backed up.
