Is $31,000 to install an 8 kWh solar system with one Powerwall a fair price?
Project Details
I've received four quotes for an 8 kWh solar system with one Powerwall, and Tesla's quote is significantly cheaper than other local major installers, who are quoting in the $37-43k range. These other installers have good reputations and some are even contracted by Tesla for installations. I'm concerned about the price difference and am seeking opinions on Tesla's service. I only qualify for the lowest market tier for SGIP rebates due to high income and not being in a fire zone, which is estimated to be around $2k. My home is a new construction, so I don't anticipate any issues there. I'm looking for an all-inclusive estimated quote and am wondering if Tesla can complete the install before the end of the year. I've decided not to go with Tesla and will stay local, and I'm waiting on another contractor before making a final decision.
