Is $43,000 to install a 31-panel solar system for 97% offset a fair price?
Project Details
I have scoped a solar system with a local installer. I recently looked at my increased summer A/C usage and realized that I'd likely need a bit more to cover increased cooling costs, which is bringing my annual electrical usage up more than originally thought. I live in a state where I don't get additional metering credits past my usage credits bank, so there isn't money in being a power plant. I hate the idea of paying for electrical at all with a big system on my roof. Luckily, adding a few more panels does not change the look of the design. I had a few more quotes and they weren't much different. Infinity Energy was closer to $2.90 per watt, so much less, but their reviews and lack of local coverage and pushier tactics put me off. The main guy Adam was nice, but the others and the follow-ups were aggressive, plus reviews from their installs in other states are no bueno. I'm waiting to get one more quote from Aegis. I know, these prices are high! This company, Earthlight, is higher than 2 others I looked at, but reviews of those other companies were sketchier and/or their sales tactics put me off.
