Is $15,000 to install a solar battery backup system a fair price?
Project Details
I am getting solar installed, which includes an electrical panel upgrade. I am looking for ideas for other small electrical upgrades I could do at the same time. I am considering installing a plug on the side of my yard for a generator, and installing essential circuits in a subpanel with a line to my garage to power them with my EV truck during outages. I have an EV truck and a 60amp level 2 charger already installed in my garage. I also have a small barn at the rear of my property with a 60amp subpanel, and my solar panels will be ground-mounted behind it. My home has gas heat, water heater, and range, with everything else being electric. I previously decided against Ford's integration system for back-feeding the house due to its $18k cost at the time. I want to plan ahead for these potential upgrades so the electrician can perform them while already on-site for the solar installation.
