Is $15,000 to install an Enphase 10c/10kWh battery a fair price?
Project Details
I have an existing solar array with Enphase micro inverters on NEM2.0 that over produces about 1MWh/yr. I'm looking to install a battery solely to take advantage of the expiring tax credit, as I'm not interested in energy price arbitrage because my monthly bill is already very low. Because we currently have a pretty good situation, I am cost sensitive on a battery that I admit we really don't need. I know the 5p would be the cheapest solution considering how reliable the grid has been (I'd estimate 2-3 hours of grid loss, 2x a year), but the excess solar charging in the 10c seems like a good future proofing option.

Add a single Enphase 10C battery to an existing solar system
This quote is for the initial installation of a single Enphase 10C battery to an existing Enphase solar system. The work includes switching the PV from grid-tied to batteries and rerouting necessary components. The system is expected to manage automatic failover (PV -> batteries -> AC). Each additional Enphase 10C battery would cost $7,000. The initial installation cost (excluding the battery itself) is estimated at $18,000, covering labor and extra hardware.
