Is $25,144 to install a 5.06 kW solar system with a 10 kWh battery a fair price?
Project Details
I am one of the people that waited until the last minute to try to install solar and still get in for the tax credits by the end of the year. I'm in CA with PGE and they have time of use plans. Based on what I've read, a battery seemed to be beneficial with the current NEM3 program, and I also have some higher times of use like when I run my 6kwh sauna heater that I thought a battery would help with. I've researched the products independently, and the panels, microinverters, and battery all seem to be fairly high rated. Enphase's customer support after install seems to have good reviews. The company, Sunergy, has good reviews on EnergySage but some so-so reviews on Reddit, Google, and Yelp, which is my main hang-up. I've been using EnergySage for comparisons and this was one of the cheaper quotes; I'm not sure if rates are higher right now due to demand or tariffs, but it seems competitive. The contractor hasn't mentioned an issue with supply at this time, but I will confirm this. This is a cash purchase.
