Is $15,750 to install a 7.92 kW photovoltaic solar system a fair price?
Project Details
I'm kicking myself for not getting this done before the end of 2025. The salesman "sharpened his pencil" for me. Oregon has a $2,500 incentive, and our power company offers 1:1 net metering. I'd love to put panels on the ADU too, but the costs of adding a second IQ Combiner and all the electrical work that comes along with that puts it way over our budget. We can fit only 10 panels on the ADU. Even that plus 6 more panels on the main with the most sun would get us to only 94% energy offset, and that configuration would bump the cost up by about $2,000. I'm also wondering what benefit moving the single panel on the upper roof provides, as that part of the roof gets a few hours more sun, especially in the winter.
