Is $8,780 to install a 7.28 kW solar system with Tesla Powerwall 3 a fair price?
Project Details
I'm looking to move on solar in the next month or two due to the expected end of federal tax incentives. My home is 1500 sq ft with average usage of 700 kWh/month (~8500 kWh annually) and a monthly electric bill of $80-100. I expect my energy utilization to increase with a future EV (driving ~30-40 miles daily average). I plan to own the home indefinitely. The panels would be installed on the south-facing roof with full sun and no shade. My house is a cheap tract home, 11 years old, with cheaper shingles (~15 year life). Numerous houses in the neighborhood have already replaced their roofs. I believe insurance may cover it. I'm trying to find out about potentially getting my roof replaced before installing solar, as I don't want the added cost and hassle of having to remove and reinstall the panels later, which also increases the possibility of damage to the system.
