Is $34,761 to install a 9.9kW solar system with a Tesla PowerWall 3 battery a fair price?
Project Details
I am looking to get solar for my townhouse in Washington DC. The roof is maxed by both systems, and the power company provides net metering. I am considering including a PowerWall 3 battery, but the economics don't improve with it; it's more of a nice-to-have. A potential complication is that I'm planning to renovate my top floor in 3-5 years, which might involve adding skylights and require temporary removal and re-installation of some panels. Company 1 estimated this at $300 per panel. I'm strongly leaning towards Quote 1 due to the price. I'm also wondering if it's worth asking for Enphase inverters for Quote 1, or if the return would be negligible. My roof gets full sun, except for a chimney.
