Is $51,220 to install a solar panel system a fair price?
Project Details
I just bought a house in NJ with a 9-year-old roof and am interested in solar because of PSEG's rising costs here. I'm new to solar, so I'm wondering if this is a good quote. I'm also curious if it's always good to go bigger than needed and what happens if I never use up all that extra kW from an oversized system. My estimated monthly PSEG gas and electricity bill is $300, which is about 700 kWh at $0.29/kWh. I may get an EV in the near future, which would add approximately 4500 kWh/year. I'm also wondering if the solar system would pay for gas usage since it's on the same PSEG bill.
