Is $20,000 to reface existing deck, build new stairs, and new railing a fair price?
Project Details
I have a deck that I can't tell how old, but judging by the rot in some of the poles and steps, it could be more than 20 years. My main concern is the columns. The deck is about 14x15 and connected to the house by a ledger board. I am looking for signs or tests to assess the condition of the columns. The columns are on cement, which is now under pavers, and I'm wondering if replacing them in place would be too difficult.
