Is $41,000 to replace wood deck with composite (without updating railing) a fair price?

We are looking to replace our wood deck with composite. The wood is in not so great condition and we need something low maintenance. My husband is very handy and would like to DIY, but my concern is the time it would take, especially with four young children and previous DIY projects having taken a long time. I'm curious what a contractor would cost and how long DIY might take.
