Is $13,486 to install a Generac 24kW whole house generator (Vendor A) a fair price?
Project Details
I’ve received 3 quotes for a whole house generator, and have eliminated the quote from the company that had a sales guy. What remains are two from electricians - one came as a recommendation from our company’s maintenance/property manager, the other recommendation came from our HVAC guy who we have really come to trust. We are in a relatively HCOL area in the northeast of USA. I was thinking about longevity/servicing/etc, and that made me actually lean a bit to the younger guy - in that Vendor A is inevitably going to retire much sooner than Vendor B. I'm trying to figure out who is misrepresenting, over-charging, or setting me up for extra fees, and if generator technology changes so frequently that I should lean towards the younger professional.
