Is $60,497 to install hardwood flooring a fair price?
Project Details
I am undertaking a major renovation of my home, which was built in 1993. The house currently has carpet and linoleum. My contractor is strongly advocating against LVP, calling it an 'overhyped gimmick' and insisting on hardwood flooring instead. I'm seeking unbiased opinions on whether his stance is valid or if he has other incentives. I've conducted my own research on LVP and found positive feedback. This flooring decision has halted the renovation, though previous flooring has been removed, and work on windows and doors is progressing. I have two Great Danes, both over 100 pounds, one of whom is my service dog, so potential scratches are a significant concern. I also use a cane. I dislike carpet and am looking for modern alternatives. Resale value is not a concern as I do not plan to sell my home; I am updating for personal enjoyment and to incorporate newer technology.
