I am questioning if I am getting overcharged for this flooring installation, as I was expecting a price between $6,000-$8,000 for 590 square feet. My girlfriend already put a deposit down, and we have only 3 days to cancel. We plan to move in 5-6 years, so this is not our forever home. After receiving feedback, I am convinced this is a ripoff and am attempting to cancel the deal. The company later offered to reduce the price to $9,700, but I am still declining. I already have some level 2 vinyl in the house and would prefer to get exact matching flooring if I'm paying a significant amount. I'm considering ripping up the carpet myself and hiring a reputable contractor for installation. The company was unable to provide an itemized receipt/explanation of charges, which solidified my decision to cancel. The rooms are very small.
