Is $16,000 to refinish red oak floors, stairs, posts, and railings a fair price?

I was quoted $16,000 to refinish red oak floors, stairs, posts, and railings. I initially calculated it to be about $5.5 per sq ft for approximately 2200 sq ft of floors, but after redoing the math based on the floor plan, it might be only ~1550 sq ft, making the cost about $5.5-$7.7 per sq ft. The house is empty with no furniture, and no baseboard removal is needed, which doesn't seem to be a common practice in Boston based on other contractors I spoke to. I'm looking for commentary on whether this cost is reasonable or for reference costs in the Boston area.
