Is $8,000 to level subfloor and reinstall existing LVP a fair price?
Project Details
We have LVP on the main floor of our house, installed by the previous owner. We've noticed multiple spots where the floor seems to hump and dip a little and feels spongy when I step on it. It's not pronounced enough to see, but walking on it with bare feet, I notice it constantly, and it drives me nuts. I don't want to band-aid the problem, but I also don't have $25k to throw at it. I'm also getting a few other quotes. Sourcing more flooring is a problem because I don't know where the previous owner got it, and redoing the whole main level would be prohibitively expensive. I'm concerned if this fix can be done for multiple areas or if it's just for isolated spots. I'd be happy to do this cheaper, as long as it's not going to resurface in six months. This spongy feel when I walk is making me nuts.
