Is $2,450 to replace circuit board and thermistor in mini split system a fair price?
Project Details
I have a mini split system in my house in Connecticut. We are in kind of a wooded area and mice keep getting in the unit. 2 years ago I had to replace the wiring, last year I had to replace the circuit board and thermistor (~$1800) and this year I have to replace the circuit board and thermistor again. I’ve tried putting the mice magic pouches but that didn’t seem to work, and a pest control company put a bait box next to it, but that also hasn’t stopped them. I'm at a loss and can't keep paying $2k-2500 every year for this.

Replace a circuit board in my central air outdoor unit
This option involves repairing the existing 5.5-year-old central air outdoor unit. The current unit's warranty expires in September, and the board replacement is not covered due to mouse damage. My current system is going out of production next year, meaning future issues would require a full system replacement (indoor and outdoor units).- New circuit board: Mitsubishi T7WB50323 (costing $1000 for parts)- Labor: Cleaning out the unit and installing the new board- Contingency: HVAC technician notes that there may be more issues than just the board, which can only be determined after the board is replaced and tested.
