Is $9,971 to replace AC coil and add several system enhancements a fair price?
Project Details
My AC stopped giving cool air yesterday, and the airflow was very weak. Upon checking, I found the coil completely frozen. The airflow was fixed once I thawed the ice and replaced the filter, but it is low on refrigerant as no cool air is coming out. I called a tech for further diagnosis, and he's given me a long list of things without checking if the coil is leaking or not. This is the first time I have had issues with my HVAC/AC unit. My house was built in 2017, so the system is 8 years old. From the cost of the fixes, it would make more sense to just replace the system than to spend this much to fix this old one. I am looking for some guidance.
