Is $1,000 to reroute dryer duct a fair price?
Project Details
Here in Iowa the mid-day temps have been in the 90s for the past few days, and I have noticed a small pool of water on my basement floor when I go down there. A little investigation suggests that it's probably caused by the main supply trunk of the air conditioning ductwork passing by and literally sandwiching the dryer duct between itself and a floor joist. The two metal ducts touching each other, one hot and one cold, is probably leading to condensation which eventually drips down. My question is - what can I do about this? The dryer duct is actually so fully wedged that it is not round - it's flat on one side. So I would probably have a hard time fitting any type of insulation in between.
