Is $3,700 to replace all ducts with insulated flex duct a fair price?

Project Details

I'm in humid central North Carolina and bought this 1930s brick house about 25 years ago. The dirt floor crawlspace used to flood frequently, and I wish I had addressed it earlier, but I got it sealed and encapsulated 3 years ago. The encapsulation, along with an Alorair dehumidifier, sump pump, and outside drainage work, has made a huge difference in keeping the space pretty dry. However, a couple of rooms in my 950 sq ft house aren't getting great A/C and heat airflow, so I am looking again at duct improvement. I can afford to spend where it's wise to do so, but I like to DIY when it makes sense. I could see this being a bit exhausting, especially in the sections of the crawlspace that are lower to the ground (kneeling height).

Replace existing ductwork with flex

The HVAC company recommended replacing the existing ductwork because they deemed the current vents uncleanable due to their size. The proposed solution involves installing flex ductwork and cutting new vent holes.
