Is $1,600 to repair an AC unit after coil froze a fair price?

Project Details

I am in central Texas. My AC started cutting in and out and wasn't cooling a little over a week ago. The coil froze over, then melted, damaging the control board and blower motor. It's been a week and 2 days now, and the parts still haven't arrived, making my house very hot. I'm trying to research reasonable costs and repair times but haven't had luck. My husband died a year and a half ago, and I'm on my own. The control board is made by a company in Houston, and delivery is affected by weather delays due to flooding.
