Is $1,390 to repair a dead AC circuit board a fair price?

Project Details

I recently moved from Virginia to Illinois. The AC unit in my new house wasn't tested during the inspection due to cold weather. Upon arriving, the house was 880F, which is too hot for my newborn. I tried basic troubleshooting before calling a technician. I'm unsure if I got scammed.

Quote Details

The technician performed diagnostics on the AC unit, checking the circuit board inside the furnace. The diagnosis was a dead circuit board, as the technician was unable to jump the wiring to force the motor on. The service involved the repair or replacement of the circuit board to restore AC functionality.
