Is $1,000 to repair the electrical board in my gas furnace a fair price?
Project Details
My gas furnace and AC are 22 years old. I live in Colorado, so the furnace gets a workout, but the AC not so much. The electrical board in my furnace went out. I'm considering whether to repair the furnace or replace it, as it's nearing its end of life. I'm also wondering if I should replace the AC even though it's working fine. If I repair, I think I'll be lucky to get 3 more years out of the furnace. I've been told prices are skyrocketing, so it might be better to replace now, but I suspect they just want to make a sale. I might sell my house in 2-5 years, so I'll probably have to replace it before selling anyway.
