Is $1,750 to replace blower motor a fair price?
Project Details
My current unit is 43 years old, and the blower motor is on its last leg, making super harsh squealing noises. A past technician advised against spending more than $1000 on it due to its age. I'm concerned that if I only replace the blower motor, other issues will arise. The unit is a green Rheem, smaller than modern units, and I have concerns about its awful noise, overall safety, and a longer delay to kick on than it used to. I've decided to go with a new unit install for $12.5K.
