Is $1,100 to replace a gas valve on a furnace a fair price?

My heat stopped working on Wednesday. After a technician replaced the gas valve for $1100, the heat worked for a day. Since then, I've had to restart the furnace multiple times to get it going. Initially, the flame igniter would go for about 35 seconds and then turn off, resulting in cool air for approximately 3 minutes with no flames visible. Now, there are flames, but they only stay on for about 5 minutes, providing warm air before turning off. I have to manually turn the furnace off and back on to restart it. There are no error codes. The HVAC company is returning this morning to address the issue, as I really just want some heat.
