replace coil and compressor

Is $2,500 to replace coil and compressor a fair price?

Project Details

I am currently experiencing a coil leak in my AC unit, which caused water to stand in the pan under the AC in the attic. The refrigerant was low. My house was built in 2018, and the AC unit's 5-year warranty has expired. The technician mentioned that my 2230 sqft house might need a bigger unit, suggesting 1 ton per 500 sqft. He also advised that the city is phasing out the current refrigerant chemical, which could make future repairs more expensive.
