Is $3,400 to replace one leaking AC coil a fair price?
Project Details
I have a cooling system with two units, a 3.5-ton and a 1.5-ton for an upstairs area, in Florida. The system will be 10 years old in March 2026, which is when the warranty expires. I am planning to sell my home next summer. There is a confirmed leak in one of the coils, and both compressors are on their last legs, having been serviced multiple times and showing signs of failure like solid ice on the coils. I'm trying to decide between a minimal repair and a full system replacement, considering the upcoming home sale and potential impact on a new homeowner/inspector.
