Is $1,700 to replace a blower fan motor a fair price?
Project Details
My Trane system was installed in 2011. A company checked it and told me the blower fan motor may need to be replaced due to grease leaking out of the motor. He predicts the bearings will die in sometime. The amps the motor was pulling was 15.1. I'm wondering if this constitutes a blower motor change, if a new system would be the way to go, if I should wait until it dies, or if I should buy a motor from Amazon and change it myself.
