Is $4,000 to repair unsealed ductwork via attic a fair price?

After installing a new AC system last year, our vents have begun sweating this summer. We have had two companies out to say that the fairly new (5+ year old) duct work isn't sealed to the boot. I'm trying to understand the issue given the 10X difference in quotes.
