Is $5,000 to replace heat exchanger a fair price?
Project Details
I had a technician perform a check-up on my furnace, which is 21 years old. He reported finding rust on the heat exchanger and suggested either replacing the heat exchanger or installing a new furnace. Based on other information I've seen, the rust might be normal wear, and the furnace could last longer. The technician also mentioned it was drawing just fine at 1.3 amps. The model of my existing furnace is 58STA090 and serial number is 2904A45906.
