Is $21,000 to install a heat pump, air handler, and 9 new duct lines a fair price?
Project Details
I asked if the company would use the old wall vents as returns, and they quoted $700 per run for R8 ducting. I'm questioning if this charge per line is reasonable and if they could just reuse the old R4 ducts. The old vents are 6-inch R4 ducts. The technician mentioned we would be better off with 8-inch ducting, but they might not fit into the wall. I'm also wondering if they should prove this via Manual D calculations.
