Is $1,500 to repair a 26-year-old gas boiler a fair price?
Project Details
My 26-year-old gas boiler isn't working. I'm wondering if it's worth repairing it, as it seems like a gamble, but I hope to get another 10 years out of it. I'm also looking for opinions on Force vs. Lochinvar brands and regular vs. high-efficiency boilers. My 40-gallon hot water heater is 12 years old and currently working fine. I just moved into this ~100-year-old house and this is the first time I've tried to use the heat.
