Is $1,500 to replace evaporator coil a fair price?

Project Details

I have a 7 year old Goodman heat pump system (model number GSZ140301KG) that was purchased by the previous owner in 2018. I've noticed the house temperature wasn't dropping below 70 degrees, even when the AC was set lower. A technician performed a nitrogen test and found a small, slow leak in the evaporator coil. The AC still cools to 70 when outside temps are 80-85, so the leak seems minor. I'm considering the options, especially since the system might still be under warranty, but it's under the former owner's name. I'm also not planning to live in this home for more than 2-3 more years, which makes the less expensive temporary fix appealing.
