Is $930 to clean a blower motor a fair price?
Project Details
I have an annual tune-up and inspection service (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) through a monthly "ASAP" program with a local HVAC company. During today's annual furnace tune-up, the technician recommended cleaning my blower motor and getting a whole-home duct cleaning. He showed me a picture of the dirty blower motor. I'm concerned about the pricing, as these quotes sound very high. Two years ago, a different technician from the same company wanted to replace the blower motor for $2,700 due to slightly out-of-range amperage, but a different technician the following year found nothing wrong with it. The blower motor is easily accessible from a side panel. I'm located in the Kansas City Greater Metro Area and plan to call around for other quotes.
