Is $2,000 to install a UV light filter a fair price?

My HVAC system was installed 11 years ago, and the evaporator is showing rust, though it works well with no leaks. The blower is very dirty, possibly due to recent renovation dust. I'm unsure if I need a new system, just an evaporator replacement, or if I should wait until it stops working. I also think the recommended UV light filter for $2,000 seems very expensive. I also felt that a recommendation for a water pan was an unnecessary upsell, especially since the system is in the basement next to a main drain.
