Is $1,000 to replace a furnace control board a fair price?
Project Details
I have a Goodman packaged unit, but I'm not sure of the exact model or its age, though it's more than 5 years old. I live in the south. The HVAC company came out because my A/C was not blowing cold air. The technician bypassed pressure switches for cooling to get the A/C working, and he didn't seem concerned about fixing them. I'm questioning if $1,000 is a high price for this replacement and if it's dangerous to run the unit without a properly functioning furnace control board. The issue with the control board was noticed during diagnostic tests.
