Is $800 to replace a furnace control board a fair price?
Project Details
My furnace went out, and after troubleshooting, I called a tech who diagnosed a bad control board. I'm questioning if the quoted price of $700-$900 is too high, especially since it's from a local, one-man operation, not a larger company. I found the board online for around $105-$130 and believe most of the quote is for labor. I'm low on money, and we are selling the house, so I need to get this repaired.
