Is $3,995 to address excessive condensation, microbial growth, and duct issues a fair price?
Project Details
My AC unit is in my garage. I'm a new homeowner in Central Florida. The unit is 5 years old and has a lot of excess condensation on the plenum. I've been told this is due to extremely high static pressure, microbes, improper duct seals, and undersized ductwork. I already have a UV light installed. The house temperature is generally good, staying at 69-71 degrees, and no one in the house has been sick.

Seal ducts in attic and basement to eliminate humidity
This quote is for sealing unsealed ducts around the return to the unit in the attic and in the basement. The issue was diagnosed as the AC unit pulling in hot, humid air from the attic and basement spaces due to these unsealed ducts, which prevents the unit from adequately dehumidifying the indoor air. The work involves manual labor using tape to seal the identified leaks. The service will be performed by 2 technicians for an estimated 4-6 hours.
