Is $2,100 to replace circuit board and capacitor on a Heil furnace a fair price?
Project Details
I was quoted what I consider to be an insane amount for a new circuit board and capacitor on blower motor (rectangular). If I can source these parts (I think I found them), does this seem like a reasonably straightforward self repair? Any advice? I found a board that is sold as replacement. I’m not 100% on the capacitor other than its 5um 250VAC. Parts at supply store seem to be about $220-250 in total. This was info from the tech that came out. Quoted repair and replacement. Numbers seemed insane. Looked up parts that need replacing and saw they late they amount to $250. The capacitor is super easy to repair. For the control board I can just move things one by one to the new one. And I’m fine spending $250 to see if can repair it in 30 mins before paying someone $600-1000 or even more.
