Is $1,500 to replace gas fireplace valve a fair price?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask. I've already spent $1,500 on repairs and now have another $900 estimate. My gas fireplace is 5 years old. I'm questioning if these repairs sound legitimate and if I should get a second opinion. I live in a city with a high cost of living, so I expect prices to be slightly inflated. I'm glad I declined having the latest repair done today. It's odd because the company has over 600 5-star reviews on Google.
