Is $5,000 to insulate basement ceiling and attic with fiberglass a fair price?
Project Details
I have a small home in the Northeast and received two very different recommendations for insulation and air sealing work from two contractors. I'm unsure whether to insulate the basement ceiling at all due to potential humidity issues, if fiberglass batts or blown-in cellulose is better for the attic, if the additional work recommended by contractor "B" (vent, chimney, can lights) is necessary and justifies the higher price, and if baffles are truly needed given my soffit ventilation.
