Is $14,000 to install a 4-ton 21 SEER AC system with a modulating variable speed furnace a fair price?
Project Details
My 2400 sq ft, two story house currently has one 5 ton AC. The house has almost no insulation and the unit frequently short cycles on average summer/winter days. It can also struggle to maintain temperature upstairs on the hottest day of the year. I am in the middle of addressing the insulation issue. We have 4 people in the house plus childcare that frequently comes and goes. I am a little reticent to size down the unit, but I'm generally inclined to trust the company's 4 ton unit suggestion.
