Is $17,000 to hide ducts behind drywall a fair price?
Project Details
I have experience finishing other rooms, but I've always used mini splits to avoid ductwork. This quote is specifically for hiding the ducts behind drywall; I will handle the electrical, lighting, the rest of the drywall, and insulation myself. I lack HVAC experience, tools, and expertise, which is why I'm hiring this out. I'm concerned about potential issues like mold, incorrect duct angles, narrow rigid ducts, and insufficient insulation if I were to do it myself. My primary goal is to make this attic space, which is currently an oven, clean, safe, and lighted for storage, not for habitation. My bedroom is beneath this space, and I want to prevent moisture and mold accumulation. With two kids and a baby, hiring this job out will be worth the money.
