Is $3,000 to repair a leak in the AC coils a fair price?

Project Details

My AC stopped working last week. The system is 11 years old, and my gas furnace is about 25 years old. I don’t really know much about HVAC systems and want to make sure I’m making the right decision. I do live in Florida, so I don’t use the heater often. My gas bill usually goes up about $100 a month during the colder months when I’m running the heat. Switching to electric would basically mean trading that gas cost for a higher electric bill instead.
