Is $1,900 to replace a cracked heat exchanger a fair price?
Project Details
My HVAC technician found a crack in the heat exchanger during routine maintenance, tagged the furnace, and shut off the gas. I am concerned about a CO leak hazard and initially questioned the urgency due to the technician's demeanor and my past experiences with this company trying to upsell me. I turned the furnace back on after he left, but now understand the severity of the situation. The unit was installed brand new in 2017.
