Is $829 to replace capacitor and contactor on HVAC unit a fair price?
Project Details
I just had regular maintenance on my 6-year-old HVAC unit. The techs recommended replacing both the capacitor and contactor, stating the capacitor was reading 40 instead of 45. The parts are covered under warranty, but the labor cost seems unusually high, even after a discount for being in their maintenance program and a yearly repair credit. I'm questioning if this is a typical price for replacing high-voltage components, as they are a larger company and I suspect I might be overpaying. This company also installed my system 6 years ago, and I pay monthly for twice-yearly maintenance. My wife was present for the quote, so I'm relying on the sheet they left.
