Is $3,999 to add blown-in fiberglass insulation on top of existing, air sealing, and attic repairs a fair price?

Project Details

My house was built in 1986. The existing blown-in fiberglass insulation has settled and in places, where later electrical or other work has been done, the insulation was shifted and not replaced. I want to bring the insulation to R-49 with blown-in fiberglass insulation. I'm concerned if the old insulation will still be effective with a new layer of insulation on top. There is some old raccoon scat in the attic in one spot. The insulation on the vertical walls is on interior walls, not exterior. The great room has a cathedral ceiling with high walls, and the vertical sections are from the level of the ceiling in the surrounding rooms to the start of the slant for the cathedral ceiling. I got three quotes, and the other two were considerably higher.
