Is $9,500 to reface kitchen cabinets a fair price?

I've been wanting to update my kitchen for a while, but a full remodel isn't in the budget right now. My kitchen currently has peel-and-stick vinyl that has started to bubble, and the installation isn't perfect since I did it myself. I'm not demolishing the cabinets because the countertop is marble and cost around $30k, so I can't install new ones. It was a mistake to do the countertops before the cabinets, but we didn't know better at the time, and the contractor didn't warn us. The cabinets themselves are actually in good structural shape; I just don't like the current style, so refacing seemed like the move instead of ripping everything out. I'm looking for new doors, hinges, and handles. I'm in the Chicagoland area and am wondering if this pricing seems reasonable for the amount of cabinets I have, if anyone has experience with Home Depot's cabinet makeover service regarding quality/installation, if I should be getting quotes from local contractors instead, and if anything is missing from this quote. I am definitely going to shop around for prices, but it seems hard to find carpenters in Chicago.
